The first step in your consultation is a history and physical examination, during which an ultrasound study will be performed. This will tell us how big the veins are and how leaky the valves are. With this information, we can pick and choose from a variety of treatment options to draw up a treatment plan especially for you and your legs. How we address these issues depends on the degree of the insufficiency, the location of the failing venous valves, and the course of the involved veins.
