    Living a sedentary lifestyle also puts you at a risk of experiencing varicose and spider veins from time to time. Asides from standing, sitting for long period of time can cause varicose and spider veins. In fact, a largely sedentary lifestyle exposes you to the condition. This is why injuries that leave you immobile for a long recovery period can also make you to develop varicose or spider veins.

    Hormonal Issues

    Hormonal issues can also contribute to spider and varicose veins. The hormonal influences of puberty, pregnancy and menopause can all contribute to the problems. The use of hormonal birth control pills can also expose women to spider and varicose veins. Even hormonal issues that come with ageing can also influence the problems.

    Conditions that cause increased pressure on the abdomen can also affect blood circulation in your body and result to spider veins or varicose veins. Such conditions as tumors and constipation, as well as tight externally worn garments like girdle can contribute to the problems.
