Dr. Mark McQuaid received his B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin, and then his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He trained in General and Vascular Surgery at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. During his chief resident year, he was the Outstanding Resident in Laparoscopy when he focused on advances laparoscopy including laparoscopic herniorraphy, anti-reflux procedures, and others.

Dr. McQuaid started his practice upon returning to North Dallas in 1996. He practices all aspects of general surgery, vascular surgery, laparoscopy, corrective surgery for venous disorders and varicose veins, and endocrine surgery. He also provides spinal exposure to spine surgeons in the area.

Dr. McQuaid is board certified in General Surgery and became a fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2002. He continues to adhere to their strict guidelines for ongoing education, high practice standards, and ethical conduct. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, and his society memberships include the American College of Phlebology, the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, the Collin County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. He was voted one of the best doctors in the Dallas area by his physician peers.

By focusing on quality, compassionate care, and adherence to strict professional standards, Dr. McQuaid has distinguished himself as a leader in the medical community. He has held the positions of Chief of Surgery, Director of Trauma, President of the Medical Staff, chair of the quality committee, and past Member of the Medical Board and the Board of Trustees.

Dr. McQuaid makes his home in Frisco, where he lives with his wife, Martha, and their two children, Michael and Jessica. He enjoys playing guitar, outdoor activities, and fishing. Fluent in Spanish, he enjoys treating Spanish-speaking patients.
